A little card doesn’t really convey my huge thanks for all your energy and enthusiasm in hosting my 40th. Not only was the food absolutely delicious, plentiful and beautifully presented – everybody serving it had a smile and patience. The bar was hugely efficient, friendly and again, patient beyond belief! No request was too much and every little detail of the event was thought through and delivered with style and grace. Everyone was staggered at the scale of the party and the efficiency in which it was presented.

When I made our booking, I had mentioned that our son has egg and dairy allergies. We were greatly impressed that, when we arrived, we were given a marked up menu showing what meals he would be able to eat and the adjustments that would be made to them. Fantastic and, I am sorry to say, not at all what we are used to with other establishments that claim to serve "home cooked" meals, but don’t seem to have a clue what is in them!!

My husband and I were on our way to a 24 hour break to the Lythe Hill Hotel, Haslemere, where we spent our wedding night 24 years ago!! We stopped at your fine establishment on our way after a lovely country walk. The food was absolutely scrumptious with every last morsel consumed with great alacrity, the wine was deliciously tempting and the staff were very attentive yet unobtrusive and all set in a lovely large private room with beautiful flowers. We all enjoyed ourselves so much that we went away feeling that this should become an annual event but with everyone paying for themselves!

Charming old pub overlooking the village green with keen young licensees, real ales and enjoyable food. Picnic sets outside this tile-hung 16th-c village pub look over the village green and cricket pitch - it's a lovely spot. Inside, the enthusiastic young licensees have gently refurbished the bars and dining room keeping plenty of charm and character. The simple, traditional bar, bustling with chatting locals and their dogs at the weekend, has leather-topped bar stools by the counter where they serve Greene King IPA and Abbot and a changing guest beer on handpump, several wines by the glass and farm cider, and there are beams, a mix of wooden chairs and tables on the parquet flooring and an inglenook fireplace. Open right up its apex, the dining room is spacious and airy with church candles and fresh flowers on light wood dining chairs and tables and a smart but relaxed feel; a couple of comfortable sofas face each other in front of an open woodburning stove. "I was in yesterday for lunch with some girlfriends and realised as I drove away that I had been so busy saying bye to the girls that I had forgotten to say thank you and that we really enjoyed our lunch. The food was superb (I especially loved the Tomato Tarte Tatin), the service was friendly and professional and there is a really great atmosphere in the place. Now that I’ve found you I will definitely be back!"

"Thank you so much for letting us come to your lovely pub for George's retirement 'do' in July. The relaxed atmosphere of space outside to meet each other, the typical pub atmosphere around the bar and use of the private function room made it a special venue for such an event. To top it all, the moreish buffet was flushed down with some rather pleasant local beers. When can I retire?"

"We have just come away from having an absolutely wonderful meal at your beautiful pub. Having a birthday meal seemed a good idea so we came down this lunch time and enjoyed wonderful surroundings, a fantastic meal and excellent service.
Sally had the herb crusted port tenderloin whilst I opted for the Noah’s Ark meat platter.
They were both glorious and had us groaning in our seats from the visual and gastronomic aspects.
Can't wait until the next birthday celebration so we can come again."
